Wednesday Wisdom: Octavia Butler

“Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool.
To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen.
To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.”
- Parable of the Talents by Octavia Butler

What a coincidence! Bask in this wisdom from Octavia E. Butler, the subject of Monday’s Author Spotlight.
That’s a powerful statement. Sister Octavia was such a gifted author. It just seems to me she was taken from us to early. Can you imagine if she was still here with us what great stories she had yet to tell us.
I’ve only read 1.5 books by Octavia Butler, but I respect her as a dynamic writer . . . and somehow still consider her a favorite. lol
So who wants to be led? She could have saved that. Some people have a need to write!
I love her too! I have read 2 of her books, but she still could have saved that little ditty!
