Keeping with my previous post topic, I decided to also feature the favorite books of John McCain, Sarah Palin, Joe Biden, and Michelle Obama. See below.
“I love C.S. Lewis. Very, very deep. And um, very intriguing reading anything by C.S. Lewis. I love, believe it or not, Dr. George Sheehan, from many years ago, he was a Runner’s World columnist…very inspiring, very motivating…” (Source: Charlie Rose)
“We read a lot of kids books at our house. Recently, Harry Potter.” (Source: Facebook)
“His favorite book was Alfred Thayer Mahan’s The Influence of Sea Power Upon History, and his favorite poem was Oscar Wilde’s “Ave Imperatrix,” which he doubtless read as an unironic meditation on the righteous use of imperial power: ‘England! what shall men say of thee,/Before whose feet the worlds divide?/The earth, a brittle globe of glass,/Lies in the hollow of thy hand’.” (Source: Reason Online)
“McCain long has pinpointed Ernest Hemingway’s 1940 novel For Whom the Bell Tolls as his favorite book . . .” (Source: LA Times)
Favorite Books: American Gospel: God, the Founding Fathers, and the Making of a Nation by Jon Meacham; Irish America by Reginald Byron (Source: Facebook)
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on Cindy McCain’s favorite book. Sorry to disappoint.
You’ll also be happy to know that if this were REAL scholarly research, I would not be able to use Facebook as a source. I know this.
Happy reading, ya’ll.
